  • In the heart of downtown Toronto at Ryerson!

    Nov 29, 2017
Downtown TO might be super busy with lots going on but that worked to our advantage when the #kts2 team arrived at the Ted Rogers School of Management for the first day of program delivery. There were so many students walking around, and thankfully they weren’t too busy to stop and take our quiz!

  • UTM…was so welcoming!

    Nov 28, 2017
Driving onto the Mississauga campus of the University of Toronto is such a relaxing thing to do. Nestled amongst nature with trees and lots of green space, the #kts2 team was looking forward to another successful visit to UTM!

  • The times you crave isolation is usually often when you most need to connect

    Nov 27, 2017
So, you may recognize this advice: Stop going out so much! Hunker down! Get to work! Absolute pearls of wisdom for extroverted students compelled to socialize like a bee drawn to a flower. But what about introverts, who, depending upon the course of study, can account for almost 80% of the student population? (This number is about 30-50% in the general population, even lower for majors like Broadcast Journalism. Don't know your Myers-Briggs personality type? Check this test out).

  • The first sign of winter at Laurentian University

    Nov 9, 2017
Just when we thought we could squeeze in another day of Fall weather, we were welcomed onto the Laurentian University campus with some light flurries! Getting out of the cold and into the brand new (at least to us!) Atrium Welcome Centre, was amazing. The building that the #kts2 was set up in allowed us to chat with loads of LU students about problem gambling awareness! There were so many students stopping at the display, asking questions, filling out our 5-question quiz, and sharing tips for keeping warm! We were especially happy to share the space with the Graduate Studies Expo on our second day. We want to especially thank our Laurentian University host Lyne Rivet from the Health and Wellness Centre, for helping kts2 out this week. On very short notice, she moved her scheduled date to an earlier one so as to increase the chance that an Ontario college could take her later date, should the work stoppage end. We couldn’t be more appreciative of her efforts to assist us and her fellow colleagues at other colleges.

  • The smell of peppermint is in the air...

    Nov 8, 2017
As the fall colours turn, it seems so does the students choice from pumpkin spice lattes to gingerbread and peppermint (at least judging from the coffee smells at the kts2 display!)

  • Original, unusual, creative OCAD U

    Nov 7, 2017
What an artistic two days at OCAD University. It was an absolute pleasure to be in one of the most architecturally interesting buildings in downtown Toronto but also to speak with so many creative students. We want to thank our Campus Contact Jennifer Ko from the Health and Wellness Centre for giving kts2 the opportunity to engage with her students and have them complete our 5-question quiz on campus. We had a wonderful time and wish everyone a successful fall semester!

  • When is it time to ask for help?

    Nov 3, 2017
Sometimes, when things in your life aren't working, you recognize it immediately and make changes to improve the situation and how you feel. Always late for your first class? You set your alarm earlier (or task a friend with waking you up). A particular person brings you down? You hang with friends that lift you up. But sometimes, it is hard to see things objectively. Reaching out to peer coaches, counselling and health services (remember those display booths you saw during the Health Fair on campus?), academic services, your RA, friends or parents may be a necessary first step.
